Faculty Education Fund for Classified Employees Scholarship

The Faculty Education Fund for Classified Employees Scholarship is awarded to TMCC classified employees and their dependents/spouses on a semester basis. Please fill out this application if you qualify and are seeking funding for the upcoming semester. To be eligible, you must have a 2.0 GPA, be enrolled in 3 or more credits or one class requiring a book or supplies. This scholarship is to be used at TMCC and will not cover costs at other NSHE institutions.

Eligibility

Full- or part-time classified staff of Truckee Meadows Community College, their spouse and dependent(s) or domestic partner as outlined below, are eligible to apply for the TMCC Faculty Education Fund for Classified Employees Scholarship annually. The primary purpose of this scholarship is to provide funding for spouses, dependents and domestic partners of classified staff and those classified staff members who have exhausted all other financial resources (grant-in-aid, FAFSA, private scholarships, and Classified Book Scholarships).

Spouse/Dependents

The spouse and financially dependent children of classified staff are eligible to apply for the TMCC Faculty Education Fund for Classified Employees Scholarship.

For the purposes of this scholarship,financially dependent child shall mean a natural, adopted or step child of a classified staff member who is not financially independent, is claimed as an exemption for federal income tax purposes under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 152) and has not attained the age of 24. The classified staff member must attest to a dependency.

Domestic Partners

The domestic partner and their financially dependent children are eligible for this scholarship if the domestic partnership is registered with the Office of the Nevada Secretary of State.

*Eligibility was determined by Title IV, Chapter 3, Section 11 of the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents Handbook and was adopted to fit the criteria for full or part-time TMCC Classified Staff and their families. There is no minimum age requirement.
